Article: When Yosef Kletzky was suggested to his fiance several months ago, he felt torn. On one hand, Shevy* came from the loveliest family.
Everything he heard about her, from her sensitivity to her solid values sounded perfect for him. On the other hand, Yosef knew that his parents had very little money to offer after his father had fallen ill.
The girl’s side also had very little in terms of money, and if things actually worked out and they decided to get married, how would they manage to make a simple wedding that their families could attend and set up a livable, functioning home?
After taking the issue up with his Rabbis, Yosef eventually came to his decision: He would let G-d run the show. Yosef had an incredible role model in his father who modeled pure faith when he was sick, and Yosef learned that the most important thing was to trust the only one who really has control-- G-d. Thus, Yosef took a leap of faith and decided to meet Shevy.
Lo and behold, after meeting with her several times, Yosef knew that Shevy was the one. Her sweet, gentle personality and core Jewish values were genuine and unparalleled, and he wanted to spend every day of the rest of his life with her. Several weeks later, Yosef proposed, and Shevy happily said yes.
That was several months ago. Though excited to begin their lives together, Shevy and Yosef’s faith is truly being tested for they are struggling to acquire the most basic items.
The only problem?
The wedding is today.
As the sun slowly sets on the horizon this evening, Leiby will don his faded Bar Mitzvah suit as he prepares to walk down the aisle towards his bride and towards his future.
Before he does so, he will quickly check his crowdfunding campaign, hoping and praying that enough funds will have been raised by then to provide his bride with the most basic things that she needs to run their home with him.
The two know that all they need is each other, but right now, they can't deny that they are scared for their survival.
