VAT - Victims of Arab Terror - and Mrs. Sarah Kessler, whose 19-year-old daughter Gila was murdered by a Palestinian terrorist in Jerusalem this past June, have filed a police complaint against Atty. Shammai Leibovitz. The complaint cites Paragraph 172 of the Criminal Code, which states that one who "says words or makes sounds, in a public place and within hearing distance of someone, that grossly offends that person's faith or religious sensibilities, is liable to one year in prison." The complainants say that some of Leibovitz's statements in court last week during the trial of Fatah-Tanzim chief Marwan Barghouti were particularly offensive to Jewish religious beliefs. The lawyer compared the accused - charged with 37 counts of murder of innocent Israelis - to Moses, the Jewish People's greatest prophet and teacher.

Kessler and VAT President Shifra Hoffman signed the complaint, which notes that four years ago, Tatyana Suskin, a young Russian immigrant, was sentenced to two years in prison for drawing a picture of Mohammed as a pig.
