The Jewish community in Atlanta, with the help of the Mission Israel and Impact Israel organizations, will be holding a pro-Israel demonstration at the Swissotel this coming Sunday afternoon. They will emphasize the long-standing U.S.-Israeli partnership while inside the hotel, groups such as the New Black Panthers and the anti-Semitic National Alliance will be conducting a conference.
At the same time, another rally will be held outside the United Nations building in New York City in support of Israel's war against terror. The demonstration, initiated by the Interdenominational Rabbinic Committee for Israel, will declare, "There is no moral equivalency between cold-blooded murder and self-defense" and "Anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism on the campus and around the world."
An international convention of cardiologists opened in Eilat today. Some 30 doctors from Europe, North America and Israel are participating. Many professional conventions of this nature have been canceled over the past two years because of the security situation.
