Palestinian terrorist fire was directed at a group of men working on the partition fence in northwestern Shomron, wounding an Israeli-Arab "moderately to seriously..." Security personnel in Har Adar, just west of Jerusalem, thwarted an infiltration attempt by four Palestinian terrorists this morning. The would-be killers had just managed to cut through the community’s security fence when they were spotted; one was captured... Troops discovered an explosives belt in an Arab village near Tul Karem last night, along with several Kalachnikov assault rifles with bullet cartridges. The soldiers destroyed the bomb in a controlled explosion...



IDF forces completed an extended mission in northern Gaza today. The troops, in the area since last night, left this afternoon with nine terrorists in tow. A mortar shell was launched at a Jewish community in central Gaza this morning, and four more later in the morning; no one was hurt.



Other Palestinian violence since yesterday included a firebomb at a vehicle traveling near Beitar in Gush Etzion - soldiers opened fire - as well as several stone-throwing attacks. No one was hurt in these incidents. There were exchanges of fire in Jenin with soldiers; the Arabs report one dead. Some 30 wanted Palestinian terror suspects were arrested throughout Judea and Samaria. One of them is a top Hamas leader responsible for attacks in the Ramallah district.



President Moshe Katzav said today that the "PA's educational system arouses so much hatred [against Israel] that the Palestinian baby receives it with his mother's milk… The Palestinians will pay a heavy price for the hatred they are teaching." Rabbi Daniel Tropper of the Gesher educational organization told Katzav that the PA introduced 60 new textbooks in the past two years, "none of which use the word 'peace.'"
