(Updated Thursday 9:30 AM) The US Senate will begin debating today on a resolution that would grant US President George Bush the authority to use military force against Iraq. Yesterday, a bi-partisan House delegation joined Bush in the White House Rose Garden to show their support for the resolution. If approved, the proposal would give the president the power to launch a strike on Baghdad without the support of the United Nations Security Council. However, the resolution does call on President Bush to notify Congress 48 hours prior to a US raid. Analysts believe that Bush will receive overwhelming support when a vote is called on the resolution sometime next week.
