Defense Minister Ben-Eliezer said yesterday, in response to a query by extreme-left MK Zahava Gal'on (Meretz), that no additional permits would be granted to Jewish worshippers wishing to pray in Joseph's Tomb in Shechem. The new government policy aroused great opposition among many Knesset Members, and the Shas party specifically said it would demand a Cabinet discussion on this issue. Breslover Hassidim also say they will continue to enter, even illegally if necessary.
