(Updated Wednesday 9:30 AM) Two alert IDF soldiers prevented a mega-terrorist attack in the northern community of Afula early this morning. The soldiers pulled into a Paz company gas station at around 2AM, on the outskirts of the city, to fill up their tank, when they noticed a suspicious bag near one of the pumps. The soldiers inspected the bag and discovered a bomb-like device inside. They then alerted police who called sappers to the scene to investigate. The soldiers’ suspicion was validated when it was confirmed that the device was in fact a bomb containing several kilograms of explosives. The sappers dismantled the device without incident. Police say that if the bomb had exploded it might have caused scores of casualties. Security forces are searching the area for potential suspects.
