Starting on Sunday, the health maintenance organizations will officially begin to vaccinate youth between the ages of 12 and 15.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the Pfizer vaccine for children about a month ago. Since then, there have been vigorous discussions in the Ministry of Health and the Vaccines Committee on the question of whether to recommend the vaccines for adolescents.
At this stage, the Ministry of Health does not recommend that all adolescents be vaccinated due to fear of myocarditis, and suggests that only those who are deemed to be in risk groups be vaccinated.
