At least 8 people have been killed in a shooting at a rail yard in San Jose, California, according to the LA Times.

According to the Santa Clara Country Sheriff, the shooter is down.

According to sources cited by the Times, the suspect set his own house on fire and then drove to a Valley Transportation Authority union meeting and began shooting.

The report cited sources saying the suspect was a 50-year-old male and is believed to have killed himself after the shooting. Multiple weapons and ammunition were reportedly found inside his home.

"Units are currently at the scene of a shooting in the area of Younger Ave. and San Pedro St. This is still an active scene and we ask that everyone stay out of the area while we conduct our investigation," San Jose Police said in a Tweet.

Sources cited by the Times said that early indications are that the shooting was related to a workplace issue.
