Demand for Simchat Torah flags is up considerably this year, and some 60,000 of them have been sold so far this year. Children bring the flags to the synagogue for the Simchat Torah holiday, two days from now, celebrating the completion of the annual cycle of public Torah reading. Tonight, synagogues around the country will feature all-night Torah study and lectures, in honor of the last day of Sukkot, known as Hoshana Rabba.
