It appears that the Shilo-bloc women have reached a dead end in their efforts to have an Arab house demolished by the army. Avi Vilensky and his wife Avital, parents of two small children, were shot almost two months ago by terrorists hiding out in the house, and local Jewish women have been demanding the building's demolition ever since.

The women met with Deputy Public Security Minister Gideon Ezra today, but he provided two reasons why the house should be left standing: The village in which it stands, Luban a-Sharkiya, is "not a hostile one," and the house is owned by people who "were not guilty of the murder." The Deputy Minister said he would recommend that the army "shave" the area of trees wherever it is clear that terrorists hid out to shoot at Israelis.
