Alert IDF soldiers prevented two armed Arabs from infiltrating a southern Gush Katif community this morning. Arutz Sheva’s Kofi Finkler reports that the troops spotted the men making their way towards a Jewish neighborhood and opened fire. The Arabs fled back into a PLO-controlled area.



This afternoon, troops arrested Fathi Najar, the head of Fatah Tanzim in the village of Yatta near Hebron. Najar is suspected of involvement numerous terror attacks in the area. Five other Arabs wanted throughout Yesha (Judea, Samaria, and Gaza) were arrested last night... Soldiers discovered and destroyed two weapons smuggling tunnels in the Rafiach area, on Israel's southern border over the past twenty-four hours. The tunnels linked Egypt with PLO-controlled areas in Gaza… Arabs fired at homes in Jerusalem's southern Gilo neighborhood last night. Several bullets hit a building but no injuries were reported... A security guard posted at the Ateret Cohanim Yeshiva in Jerusalem's Old City was lightly injured when Arabs hurled a bottle at him last night.
