The eight-day holiday of Sukkot (nine days, outside Israel) begins tonight. Known as "holiday of our joy," it features joyous celebrations and commemorations of ceremonies in the Beit HaMikdash [Holy Temple], as well as the Torah commandments of living in a sukkah [small temporary home] and taking the Four Species - lulav (palm branch), etrog (citron), hadassim (myrtle branches), and aravot (willow branches).
