The Jordanian murderer of seven 12-year-old Jewish girls may soon be pardoned. He committed the heinous crime in March 1997, when he suddenly shots dozens of bullets upon a large group of girls on a school outing to the Naharayim \"Peace Island” on the Israeli-Jordanian border near Beit She\'an. At least three eyewitnesses said that Jordanian soldiers nearby did nothing to stop the attacker, who continued shooting until a stoppage occurred in his rifle. The Jordanians did not allow IDF ambulances and rescue teams to enter the area to help the wounded girls, and instead spent the time collecting bullet casings, cleaning blood stains, and in general preventing the IDF from investigating the murders - in direct violation of the Israeli-Jordanian peace agreement.

Jordanian officials now report that the country\'s Parliament has recommended that 40 political prisoners and terrorists - including the murderer-soldier in question - be pardoned.
