The official Palestinian Authority daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida chose the anniversary of the attacks on America to print two political cartoons, which ridicule the US response to September 11. The first cartoon depicts the date “September 11” attached to a pair of legs, chasing Uncle Sam who is running away in fright.

The second cartoon depicts the US response to 9-11 as immoral by portraying the Twin Towers over a mass of dead bodies who are “victims of American imperialism.” The text on the side reads, “September” while the towers form the number 11. One of the towers has an arrow pointing downwards with text, which reads "Rights of Nations.” The other tower has an arrow pointing upwards with the text reading “American Hegemony.”

This is not the first time that the PA official daily has used political cartoons to ridicule and spew hatred against the United States. Just last week the paper printed political cartoons depicting George Bush (and Tony Blair) as Nazis and portrayed the US War on Terror as a cover for American policy aimed at controlling Arab oil.
