Prime Minister Sharon sent a harsh warning to Lebanon yesterday: don’t try to pump more water from the Wazzani River. The Wazzani is a tributary of the Hatzbani River which flows into Israel's Kinneret (Sea of Galilee). The Kinneret is Israel's main source of drinking water. Lebanon has drawn up plans to divert more of the water to towns and villages in southern Lebanon. Israel is considering a military reponse if there is a disruption in water flow to the Kinneret. The Hizbullah terror organization has warned Israel not to prevent Lebanon from its plans to pump more water from the Wazzani.
