Army forces dismantled a civilian-monitored security outpost near the Shomron community of Har Bracha last night. Two persons manning the position were arrested. In addition, a caravan (mobile home without wheels) was removed. The Yesha (Judea, Samaria, and Gaza) council released a statement opposing the Defense Ministry's decision to take the outpost down. "The minister of defense's surprise order to forcefully evacuate residents east of Bracha was illegal since no evacuation order has been issued by a court as required by law. This action was also in violation of a promise made by the Government to the Yesha Council that the matter of the outposts would be decided by the Cabinet and in coordination with the residents," read the statement. Just two weeks ago, an Arab gunman infiltrated into Har Bracha and seriously wounded a husband and his pregnant wife.
