IDF troops backed by about two-dozen tanks moved into a PLO-controlled area of Gaza last night to combat the ongoing terror originating from the area. During the operation a tank crew fired a shell that killed two Arabs as they were planting a bomb near the Sufa crossing. Arab sources say that at least ten others were wounded in exchanges of gunfire.

In addition, army demolition crews leveled the home of a top Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist. He was involved in many attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians.

Despite the IDF presence in Gaza, Arabs continue to launch mortar shells at Jewish communities in Gush Katif. One landed harmlessly near Netzarim this morning. Another landed in the Gadid area, causing no damage or injuries.
