(Updated Monday 9:45 AM) The 86-member Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) will convene in Yasser Arafat’s Mukata compound today. On the agenda is the approval of Arafat’s new-look cabinet. Arafat’s reshuffling comes amidst pressure from the White House to carry out meaningful reforms within the PA’s operational structure. However, many analysts say that Arafat’s changes are simply cosmetic and that his corrupt terror regime remains intact.

Israel is forbidding twelve Gazan council members from participating in today’s session due to their direct links to terror. Several other PLC members who reside in Gaza have chosen to participate in the session via videoconference to protest Israel’s decision to bar their colleagues from attending.
