General Security Service agents, accompanied by police, placed demolition orders on four eastern Jerusalem homes belonging to terrorists of the Hamas Jerusalem cell. This would be the first time that the homes of Israeli residents are razed in this manner. Defense Minister Ben-Eliezer's objection to demolishing the homes of Israeli-Arab terrorists does not apply in this case, because although the terrorists in question carry Israeli identity cards, they are "residents" and not full-fledged citizens [they cannot vote in national elections]. The cell, whose members were arrested two weeks ago, is responsible for at least eight terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of 35 persons and left over 150 wounded.
