A third year of terrorism-interspersed-with-negotiations appears about to begin this evening, as Israeli and PA officers are scheduled to meet tonight. They will discuss "security coordination," according to a PA source quoted by Itim News Agency. In a pre-Rosh Hashanah holiday interview, Prime Minister Sharon told Israel Television last night that for the first time, he now sees a "window of opportunity" for possible peace with the Arabs of Yesha. Sharon said that he would be willing to negotiate a deal with those Arabs who have reached the conclusion that they can’t achieve anything using terrorism.
Prime Minister Sharon also said that Libya poses a significant threat to world peace and that the Tripoli government is actively pursuing weapons of mass destruction. Sharon said that Libya might even become the first Arab nation to obtain nuclear capabilities. The Prime Minister also said that Israel is well-prepared against an attack from Iraq.
