New statistics show that a third of the graduates of the battalion commanders course are from Judea and Samaria. Of the two, most graduates are from Samaria. 9 out of 23 complete the 3 month course, considered one of the most prestigious courses in the IDF reserves.
Samaria governor Yossi Dagan commented, "We are proud of our soldiers. Our settlements are the IDF and the IDF is our settlements.We are proud of the volunteer spirit of our residents. We have to get through this complex period together successfully. "
According to data on enlistment and service for 2020, the Samaria Regional Council shows high enlistment: 83.7%, compared to the national average of 71.7%.
84.6% of those who enlist in the IDF apply for extending service, including 92.3% of female recruits.
