Gilad Erdan, Israel's Ambassador to the US and the United Nations, responded to the recent International Criminal Court ruling and defined it as "distorted and anti-Semitic."

"It is an attack on Israel and all democracies," Erdan added, "undermining our ability to defend civilians against terrorism."

"The court was established to investigate the world’s gravest war crimes," he said, "but instead it meddles in political disputes, rewarding Palestinian terrorists and pushing the Palestinians further away from the momentum of peace now taking place in our region."

Also on Saturday, Israel's Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit said the ICC "lacks any jurisdiction" over Israel.

"This legal position has garnered the support of leading nations and world-renowned legal experts, yet the Court’s majority opinion disregarded many of the substantial legal arguments made in this context," he empahsized.
