Hanna Siniora, the PLO's new "ambassador" in Washington, has a lengthy record of support for terror and of spewing blood-libels against Israel. So claims the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA). Yasser Arafat made the appointment about two weeks ago, in the apparent hope that the world would applaud his "moderate" choice. But ZOA President Morton Klein calls Siniora "an extremist in 'moderate' clothing," and the organization provides samples of Siniora's anti-Israel sentiment:
*At a press conference in Washington, D.C. in March 1986, Siniora maintained that Palestinians had a right to continue "the armed struggle" against Israel in any part of the country.
* Siniora said in a 1991 interview: "The best thing about this generation [of Palestinian Arabs] is they see they have to fight."
The Jerusalem Times, published by Siniora, contained two recent news articles blaming Israeli policies for increases in cancer among Palestinian Arabs. Another recent news feature claimed that Israeli doctors pressure Palestinian Arab women to have unnecessary abortions. The paper also accused "Jewish extremists" of "help[ing] the Palestinian suicide bombers carry out their attacks," and claimed that an Islamic Jihad bomber was actually an agent for the Israeli Mossad (Secret Service).
