In other Gush Katif news, the army says it has "intelligence warnings of possible terrorist attacks," and has therefore banned Jewish traffic from under the four-month-old Gush Katif overpass. The bridge was built to avoid contact between Jewish and Arab traffic, the latter of which was to pass under it. However, Jewish residents protested this arrangement, saying a bridge would be a target of attacks and represented a concession of Israeli land. The army gave in to their demands at the time and allowed the Jews to travel both under and over the bridge. In light of the latest ruling, residents gathered early this evening once again to protest.



Two bombs were found today in Kokhav Ya'ir, a high-class neighborhood just west (the Israel-proper side) of the Green Line. The bombs, which were found very close to former Prime Minister Ehud Barak's old home - he has since moved to a home two streets away - were safely detonated by police... An IDF force near Salfit was fired upon, and an IDF armored personnel carrier was targeted in a roadside bomb attack near Sa-Nur. No injuries were reported in these Shomron-region incidents...



Several Palestinian terrorists and suspects were arrested over the past 24 hours. They included one carrying an assault rifle and a pistol in the Shechem region, one in Jenin who was on Israel's most wanted list, two terror suspects near Rafiach, and at least two others elsewhere in Yesha. In Rehovot this morning, police apprehended 30 PA residents working illegally on four construction sites.
