A terrorist stabbing attack was foiled in Samaria Tuesday morning, according to initial reports.
The incident took place at the Giti Junction on Route 5, between Ariel and Barkan.
The terrorist was shot and neutralized during the attempted stabbing attack.
During the abortive attack, the terrorist, armed with a knife, charged at a female IDF soldier who was standing by the junction, but was shot before he could reach his intended victim.
The terrorist was initially listed in critical condition, and later died from his wounds. No other injuries were reported.
United Hatzalah emergency first responders were dispatched to the scene of the attack.
United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Chaim Kreif, who was one of the first responders at the scene relayed: "Miraculously, other than the attacker, there were no injuries and the incident is being dealt with by security forces."
According to an army investigation, the female soldier targeted by the terrorist used her rifle to hold him at bay as he attempted to stab her. The unit's commander then opened fire, killing the terrorist.
The female soldier was later identified as Corporal L, a native of London and a lone soldier serving in the IDF.
After the incident, L called her parents in the UK to reassure them that she was not harmed in the attack.
