(Saturday – 31 August - 21:51) Four persons were wounded, two seriously, when a terrorist infiltrated the Shomron community of Har Bracha shortly after 8:00pm tonight. The terrorist opened fire with a Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifle in the area of the community's hesder yeshiva, wounding a young couple seriously.

The wife, 23, who is pregnant, was hit in the chest by gunfire. She was transported by a mobile intensive care unit to Petach Tikvah's Beilinson Hospital, reportedly in serious condition.

Her husband was transported by a military helicopter to Tel Aviv's Tel HaShomer Hospital. Magen David Adom emergency medical service officials reported that after stabilizing his condition on the scene, he was listed as moderate at the time of transport.

The couple does not live in Bracha, but was visiting the community from Jerusalem over the Sabbath.

The terrorist was killed by a quick acting civilian who immediately discerned what was taking place and opened fire. On his body were the automatic weapon, additional magazines, and a hunting knife. There are unconfirmed reports he was also carrying grenades. Footprints on the scene point to a second terrorist who apparently escaped. A manhunt continues.

Elsewhere, a security alert has been declared in the southern district near Niram, where cuts in the fence and footprints point to another infiltration.

In Hevron, one person was lightly injured in a stone throwing attack. In Gush Katif on the Sabbath, a bomb was found near Kissufim and detonated without incident. A rocket was fired tonight at the northern Gush Katif community of Netzarim. There were no injuries.
