Another arms-sale scandal may be in the making, and the question is: Did or didn't arms dealer Avichai Weinstein know where his rubber treads for armed personnel carriers were really headed? German custom officials discovered last month that an Israeli shipment of military equipment was headed for Iran, and sent it back to Israel. The cargo is owned by an Israeli company headed by Netanya resident Avichai Weinstein, who denies the German officials' claims. He says that he sold the goods to a German company for delivery to Thailand. Weinstein, who will probably be questioned by police tomorrow, was suspected three years ago of trying to sell military parts to Iran, but the case was closed.
