Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer apologized today for last night's accidental killing of four Arabs by IDF tank shells in Gaza. An IDF investigation has established, however, that the tank fire was directed at Arabs crawling towards the Jewish community of Netzarim, in a location that is off-limits to PA residents. The Arabs claimed that IDF shells destroyed a home in a densely populated neighborhood, but the morning light revealed that all the buildings were still standing.



A Hamas spokesman in Gaza said that the organization would step up attacks against Israel in response to the deaths.
