In internal talks, the possibility arose that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Health Minister Yuli Edelstein would be injected before the cameras to serve as a personal example to the public, Channel 12 News reported.

In the last two days, it was reported that 10 million vaccines from two leading companies, Pfizer and Moderna, are expected to arrive in Israel starting this month, and the first vaccinations may arrive as early as next week.

In recent days, Prime Minister Netanyahu has been leading intensive negotiations with the Pfizer company, in order to receive the first delivery of the vaccines as quickly as possible.

The report states that Netanyahu has spoken with the company's CEO twice in the last three days and asked for a delivery of 4 million vaccine doses already now, with some of the vaccines expected to arrive in coming weeks.

In the United States, former presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama have announced similar public relations exercises to enhance trust in the COVID-19 vaccine, with CNN reporting "Former Presidents Obama, Bush and Clinton volunteer to get coronavirus vaccine publicly to prove it's safe".

In response to the announcement, Democratic U.S. Senator from Minnesota Amy Klobuchar said: "This is leadership. This is how a President should act."
