Speaking on Reshet Bet on Thursday morning, the head of the Raam party (a component of the predominantly Arab Joint List), MK Mansour Abbas, said that elections would probably prove a futile exercise.

"There is no real alternative to Netanyahu, and he's still going to be leading the country after the next elections, possibly in a coalition with [Yamina party head Naftali] Bennett," Abbas said. "In the last seven elections, we tried to replace him, and we didn't get anywhere."

He added that his party "is opposed to holding elections during a period of nationwide crisis, but I hope that the Joint List will hold together. There are no substantive issues dividing us."

Yesterday, the Joint List voted in favor of dissolving the Knesset, but the Raam party absented itself from the vote.
