Either the PA has strange ideas about how to maintain peace, or else "Gaza First" is simply not working. A mortar shell landed in the yard of a Jewish home, causing damage but hurting no one; Palestinians opened fire on IDF outposts near Kfar Darom and Netzarim last night; shots were fired at Jewish cars on the Karni-Netzarim road this morning, and the road was closed as a result.

The father of the family whose yard "hosted" the mortar shell at 5:45 this morning spoke with Arutz-7 today, and said, "It's important to look at this from a national point of view. We see here, adjacent to us, robbers and conquerors who try to threaten us and rob us of our homes and attack us, who try to murder us and destroy the Nation of Israel... Thank G-d, Am Yisrael will always exist, and here in Gush Katif, we will continue our lives with joy and vitality, and we will continue!"

The army continues chipping away at the terrorist ranks, and many of those remaining are on the run. IDF troops backed by tanks and helicopters went house-to-house in Jenin in search of wanted terrorists, and came up with a prize: The top Hamas terrorist in the Shomron, responsible for the Matza Restaurant massacre (15 dead) and other attacks. Exchanges of gunfire continued all morning, and one wounded soldier is listed in "moderate" condition. A total of five wanted PA Arabs suspected of terrorist activity were detained last night, including two north of Hevron and another three in Hevron itself. Shots were fired this morning at soldiers in Hevron.

Security forces announced last night that they had arrested the murderer of Eli residents Avi and Avital Vilensky. The husband and wife were shot and killed as they were returning home one night earlier this month with their two children, one of whom was also seriously hurt. The murderer was arrested in the nearby village of Luban el-Sharqiya in the Shomron. Local residents demand that they army destroy the abandoned building he used to perpetrate the fatal attack.
