No rest in Gush Katif. Palestinian terrorists fired from the Gaza city of Khan Yunis towards N'vei Dekalim this afternoon; one bullet hit a residential house, but no one was hurt. In addition, two homemade anti-tank missiles were fired towards an IDF outpost in northern Gaza, whose troops returned fire. Yesterday, Arabs hurled grenades at soldiers stationed in the Rafiach area along the Egyptian border. Near Jenin, Arabs detonated a bomb near IDF vehicles; no one was hurt in these incidents.

The IDF continues to chip away at the terrorist forces. Israeli troops killed two terrorists, including a senior Fatah leader, in an exchange of fire in Jenin last night. In Harbeta, just north of Modiin, a Hamas terrorist was apprehended this afternoon. He is suspected of ties with the Jerusalem Gang, the terrorist cell of Israeli-Arabs arrested last week and responsible for the murder of 35 Jews in a series of attacks. Security forces arrested a total of 12 wanted terrorists throughout Yesha (Judea, Samaria, and Gaza) over the weekend.

Hizbullah also got in the act, firing anti-aircraft missiles at Israel Air Force planes over the northern border. A fire broke out as a result in the Hatzbani nature reserve, destroying several acres of trees and brush in the popular water-and-hiking site before being brought under control.

IDF forces carried out a successful operation in the Arab town of Salfit in the Shomron, south of Jenin, last night and this morning. Among the several terrorist arrestees was one in the midst of planning a suicide attack in Israel.
