Foreign Minister Shimon Peres made a convincing case for Israel in his talks in Norway. He told Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik yesterday that only "when the Palestinians take responsibility, and prove it, in Gaza, will the IDF redeploy and begin to ease restrictions." Bondevik told Peres that he objects to the call by Norwegian trade unions to boycott Israeli goods. Itim News Agency reports that Peres met with the union president and rebuked her for her decision: "Even the most minor judge learns the facts before passing judgment. You are acting out of ignorance and a lack of desire to learn the facts. You passed judgment without any basis… Your call is an embarrassment to Norwegian labor and trade unions all over the world."
