
A total of 2,565 new cases of the coronavirus were diagnosed across Israel on Sunday, according to data released by the Ministry of Health on Monday.
That’s down from 3,790 new cases diagnosed on Saturday and 5,301 cases diagnosed Friday, following a decline in the number of tests administered from 53,165 on Friday to 41,772 Saturday down to 23,474 on Sunday.
The death toll is 1,256, including 30 coronavirus-related fatalities recorded over the week, with 24 fatalities on Saturday and six on Sunday.
Since the pandemic first began there have been 188,427 cases diagnosed in Israel. Of those, 135,991 ended in recovery.
There are currently 51,180 active cases of the coronavirus, of which 49885 are being treated at home or in coronavirus hotels.
There are an additional 1,295 coronavirus patients being treated in hospitals.
Of those, 643 are listed in serious condition, with a further 241 in moderate condition.
One-hundred-and-seventy are on respirators.
Of the tests conducted Sunday, 10.9% came back positive, up from 9.1% the day before.
On Friday, the Israeli government imposed a nationwide lockdown, the country’s second since the pandemic broke out.
