The campaign to achieve a pardon for Margalit Har-Shefi continues. Legal experts across the political spectrum have expressed great opposition to her conviction of \"not preventing the assassination of Yitzchak Rabin.\" Margalit was found guilty of hearing future assassin Yigal Amir boast of wanting to kill Rabin and of saying that he \"almost killed him\" on two occasions. Carmi Gillon, who was head of the GSS at the time, has written and said that no one believed then that a Jew would kill the Prime Minister - yet Margalit, who has similarly always maintained that she never believed that he would carry out his boasts, was convicted and sentenced to nine months in prison.

Hundreds of people have already written to President Moshe Katzav and Justice Minister Meir Shetreet, asking for a Presidential pardon. Her family is asking for more faxes to be sent, particularly from abroad, to Shetreet (+972-2-628-5438) and to the President (+972-2-566-1033). See her website at \"www.harshefi.org.il\"
