The High Court of Justice today rejected a petition by the family of Ass’ad Za’arub, of Gaza, against the demolition of its home. Za’arub murdered his employer Nissan Dolinger of Pe’at Sadeh three months ago, and his house was sealed by the IDF when the murderer’s identity was made known. The judges concluded unanimously that there was no basis for their intervention in the IDF’s decision in favor of demolition. The IDF had claimed that demolition was a very effective deterrence against terrorist attacks, and brought proof to this effect.
