The gas strike continues, but that won't bother Dan Bus Company workers; they're also on strike. Marginal progress was reported in yesterday's talks between the Infrastructures Ministry and the Pi Gelilot gas company management. As the fuel depot strike enters its eighth day, shortages in diesel fuel are being reported in Jerusalem, southern Israel, and in the bus companies’ reserve supplies. Deputy Infrastructures Minister Naomi Blumental (Likud) said that her ministry would not allow car owners to experience gas shortages. The strikers pulled out another stop in their labor dispute this morning, closing the Ashdod station and halting the supply of diesel fuel to the Israel Electric Company.

Non-union Dan Bus Company drivers walked off the job this morning, and Petach Tikvah area bus lines were disrupted during the morning commute. Yesterday, drivers in the Bat-Yam area failed to show up for work. The employees are protesting significant cuts in their pay.
