Marginal progress was reported in talks between the Infrastructure Ministry and the Pi Glilot gas company management yesterday. As the fuel depot strike enters its eighth day, shortages in diesel are being reported in Jerusalem, in southern parts of the country, and within the bus companys’ reservoirs. Yesterday, Deputy Infrastructure Minister Naomi Blumenthal (Likud Party) denied rumors that car owners nationwide will experience gas shortages at pumps as a result of the strike.
In addition to the fuel workers’ strike, non-union Dan Bus Company drivers walked off the job this morning. Petach Tikvah area bus lines were disrupted during the morning commute. Yesterday, drivers in the Bat-Yam area, failed to show up for work. The employees are protesting significant cuts in their pay.
