US President Donald Trump on Thursday night accepted the Republican presidential nomination in a speech at the Republican National Convention.

"My fellow Americans, tonight, with a heart full of gratitude and boundless optimism, I proudly accept this nomination for President of the United States," he said.

"This is the most important election in the history of our country," said Trump. "This election will decide whether we save the American dream or whether we allow a socialist agenda to demolish our cherished destiny."

"How can the Democrat Party ask to lead our country when it spends so much time tearing down our country? In the left’s backward view, they do not see America as the most free, just and exceptional nation on earth. Instead, they see a wicked nation that must be punished for its sins," he continued.

“We will defeat the virus, end the pandemic, and emerge stronger than ever before,” vowed Trump.

“I did what our political establishment never expected and could never forgive, breaking the cardinal rule of Washington Politics: I KEPT MY PROMISE.”

Trump listed among his accomplishments the relocation of the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, the recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights and the peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

“Unlike many presidents before me, I kept my promise, recognized Israel’s true capital and moved our embassy to Jerusalem.”

“We also recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights and this month we achieved the first Middle East peace deal in 25 years. Thank you to the UAE, thank you to Israel,” said Trump.

“We obliterated 100% of the ISIS caliphate and killed its founder and leader, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi. Then in a separate operation, we eliminated the world’s #1 terrorist by far, Qassem Soleimani,” continued Trump, listing other accomplishments related to the Middle East.
