The UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs Mohammed bin Ahmad Al Bawardi held a telephone call with Israeli Defense Minister, Benny Gantz, focusing on the UAE-Israel peace accord.
According to WAM - the Emirates News Agency, both ministers expressed their conviction that this accord will enhance the chances of peace and stability in the region as it represents a positive step in this direction.
Moreover, WAM reported, they both noted that they were looking forward to strengthening communication channels and establishing solid bilateral relations for the benefit of their countries in particular and the region as a whole.
According to the official Israeli Defense Ministry statement "The ministers further reviewed additional potential areas of collaboration between the two defense establishments and affirmed their intention to establish constructive working ties to the benefit of the region".
Gantz told Al Bawardi that he would look forward to meeting him when circumstances allow and the two agreed to keep an open channel of communication between them and their respective ministries.
