Hadassah Medical Center CEO Professor Ze'ev Rotstein warned of an uptick in the number of coronavirus cases at the start of the new school year.

In a Monday morning interview with Reshet Bet, Rostein noted that some schools have already begun the new school year, but without proper preparations.

"Studies in the religious sector have already commenced, and we still have not organized ourselves to conduct periodic tests of the staff," he said. "We are expecting an uptick in cases from there in the near future."

Criticizing coronavirus czar Professor Ronni Gamzu, Prof. Rotstein said that the public is still waiting to see the results of the new czar's work.

"There are things that Gamzu is doing in the infrastructure, with the Home Front Command and other things. But in my opinion, the public wants to see much faster action and influence on the results," he said.

"From what I hear from the media, the head of the National Security Council recommends a lockdown. I don't know why, if he is pushing for this issue. I have doubts if a lockdown will be effective.
