As the Pi Gelilot fuel depot strike enters its seventh day, fuel shortages are being reported at pumps in Jerusalem and in southern Israel, and are expected to hit other areas as well. An end to the strike is not in sight, as talks held late last night between Pi Gelilot management and it employees failed to make progress. The strikers are protesting new Infrastructure Ministry regulations and price-cutting that are pushing management to fire workers, as well as Pi Gelilot plans to close two of its four terminals. The Cabinet discussed the crisis today, and further talks are scheduled for today.
