A group of women from Shilo, Maaleh Levonah and Eli (Binyamin-region communities north of Jerusalem) who took over a building in the village of Luban a-Sharkiye this morning evacuated it on their own volition - for the second time in a week.

The women took over the house in protest of the deteriorating security situation on the roads leading to their homes. They decided, however, not to engage in a physical confrontation with the soldiers who came to remove them. The house in question was used by Arab terrorist murderers early last week to shoot and kill the young couple Avi and Avital Vilensky of Eli; the victims were gunned down while driving home with their two young children. (They were the 16th husband-and-wife couple to be murdered by Palestinian terrorists in the ongoing Oslo War.)

Arutz-7's Kobi Sela reported from the scene today on the women's demand for the building to be destroyed, together with other buildings and roadside trees that help endanger Jewish drivers. "This was the second time they took the house," Sela said. "Last time, their rabbi reached an agreement with IDF Binyamin District Commander Col. Ilan Paz, and they left on their own. But the agreement wasn't implemented, and so they went up again today."

Liat Vach from Eli, one of the protestors, said, "Our residents have been shot at on this highway at least seven times, leading to four deaths and several wounded. The army promised to protect this road by destroying houses alongside it used by the attackers, but did not do it... Yes, this is the second time we're doing this, and we will do it again and again if we have to, until the army does what it has to. It cannot be that every trip on this road is a matter of life-and-death for entire families."

Binyamin Regional Council head Pinchas Wallerstein also arrived on the scene to encourage the women. He said that he's not the only one who supports their demands: "We know that many army officers have long been in favor of razing this building, and it is not clear why the order has not been handed down... The women's methods are correct: They will keep coming down here until the house is destroyed."
