U.S intelligence agencies spotted activity at an Iraqi biological weapons factory last week according to an article in today’s Washington Times. A convoy of about 60 trucks was photographed at the site by a spy satellite, near the city of Taji, just northwest of Baghdad. According the article, intelligence officials have warned president Bush that Saddam Hussein is prepared to use weapons of mass destruction - including biological, chemical and perhaps even nuclear - against US coalition forces should they mount an attack on Iraq. United Nations weapons inspectors have been denied access to suspected Iraqi missile sites since 1998. In January 1991, Hussein used the allied attack on Baghdad as an excuse to launch 39 scud missiles at Israeli population centers, causing at least one death.
