(Updated Wednesday 9:15 AM) The indictment of Fatah Tanzim head Marwan Barghouti is taking place at this hour in a Tel-Aviv district courtroom. Barghouti was the brains behind dozens of terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians since the beginning of the Oslo war, almost two years ago. His charges included murder, aiding and abetting murder, promoting murder, attempted murder, criminal conspiracy, and serving as an active member in a terror organization.

Barghouti was apprehended on April 15 during Israel’s Operation Defensive Shield anti-terror campaign. Israel decided to prosecute Barghouti in a civilian court and to open the hearings to the public so that other PLO terrorists could witness firsthand that those who carry out crimes against Israel do not go unpunished.
