One person was seriously injured Monday after a fire broke out in an apartment building in the city of Maale Adumim, east of Jerusalem.

The blaze broke out in a residential building on Hanachalim Street.

United Hatzalah volunteer EMTs were dispatched to the scene and treated a woman in her 30s who was in moderate-to-serious condition.

Five other people were also lightly injured in the fire. Paramedics treated the other five victims for smoke inhalation and burns.

United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Akiva Skolnik who was one of the first responders at the scene relayed: "Together with other EMS personnel, I treated a woman who was rescued from the building by firefighters. She was suffering from serious burns and smoke inhalation. Additionally, we treated another five people who were lightly injured and suffering from respiratory distress due to smoke inhalation."
