A group of Likud MKs and activists demonstrated outside the Prime Minister's Office during today's Cabinet meeting, under the banner, "Gaza First - to be Re-Conquered." The group, known as the Forum for the Preservation of Likud Values, called upon the government to "liquidate terrorism once and for all" and to stop taking the Labor party pressures into account. MK Eli Cohen explained:
"He [Prime Minister Sharon] has a divided government, one that keeps pulling him in different directions. We are telling him that he cannot give in to pressures from Peres or from [foreign countries], and not try to find all sorts of false remedies such as a partition wall. What is required is just to liquidate terrorism, period. The army must go into every terrorist nest and uproot it, even if it's in Gaza - and not to play ping-pong by going in and out all the time. We're talking about Jewish lives!"
