Yesha Council Chairman and Jordan Valley regional councilor David Elhayani today related to the report that the Prime Minister is behind the decision to prevent him from attending the Likud faction meeting.
Elhayani told Arutz Sheva: "I wasn't offended. If the news is indeed as you indicated that the Prime Minister is the one who prevented us from entering the faction meeting, I regret it."
"He seems to have something to fear," added Elhayani, explaining, "We actually came to tell those Knesset Members and Ministers 'guys, you are heading towards establishing a Palestinian state, don't give it your support', while the Prime Minister was behind the refusal for us to enter the faction meeting."
In place of the Likud snub, Elhayani received an invitation to the Yamina faction, "Yamina welcomed me to hear updates and hear what's happening and how we're dealing with the mission, and the existing situation, and what we'd like to see as an achievement."
Elhayani was asked whether he thinks Knesset Members and Likud ministers understand the danger, "I'm impressed by most Knesset Members and ministers we meet with; we haven't yet met with everyone who understands the existential danger of establishing a Palestinian state in the heart of the State of Israel. Some are surprised by the map, but this is the only map. There is no other map. I want to see someone show another map and then we can relate to it.
"Everyone understands that a Palestinian state shouldn't be established, some just don't understand the correlation between establishing a Palestinian state and Trump's outline," explained Elhayani. "We have a series of steps that we plan on and you'll know about them in due time."
