The IDF has essentially removed the curfews from the cities of Hevron and Kalkilye. The residents were allowed to walk around freely yesterday morning, as on many previous days, but the curfews were not renewed at night. Only Bethlehem, Jenin, and Shechem among the PA cities are now under night curfews.

Security forces arrested several terrorist suspects last night, including in Gaza, El-Hader south of Bethlehem, and north of Ramallah. Four other PA residents were arrested in PA-controlled Kalkilye, in one of whose homes was found an explosives belt ready for use, an Uzi sub-machinegun, a handgun, and ammunition.

Fighting in the south last night included gunfire and dozens of grenades against soldiers in the Rafiach area, as well as mortar shells at a southern Gush Katif community. No one was hurt.

Route 443 was closed to traffic for a while this morning while IDF forces conducted a search for suspected terrorists in the area. A helicopter took part in the search, which turned up nothing.
